Red Moon Rising is an Australian performance company committed to creating bold, image-based works of physical theatre. Red Moon Rising is passionate about finding ways for physical, butoh-based performance to speak to contemporary audiences by using a unique Australian voice.
In 2010 Red Moon Rising’s work The Oak’s Bride was part of the Next Wave Festival and was supported by the Australia Council for the Arts Theatre Board through their young artist initiative.
The company also presented their work Sketches of Blood at the 2009 Melbourne Fringe Festival and the 2010 Adelaide Fringe Festival where they were nominated for ‘best dance’.
